PERCUSSION STAR LUIS CONTE’S CUBAN TRIO PROJECT
Luis Conte has toured and recorded music with some of the biggest names in the music industry, that it would be quite a task to fit them all into one space. However, some of them include Madonna, Dianna Krall, the Eagles, Maná, James Taylor, Pat Metheny, Eric Clapton, Carlos Santana, Phil Collins, Shakira and Rod Stewart, to name a few. His career took off after he joined Madonna’s touring band in the 1980s and he has since composed for and played with the Dancing with The Stars band on ABC and has worked on many other film and TV shows.
Currently Luis is working with Grammy Nominee and Latin Grammy Winner producer/engineer Jake Carmona at his recording studio in Thousand Oaks, California. Jake Carmona is well known in the business as a multi-instrumentalist, composer, singer, producer and recording and mixing engineer with over 20 years of experience under his belt. He is also one of the most highly regarded, skilled and creative audio editors in the industry. Most recently, Jake finished working as a composer and sound designer for the multi award winning independent short film Neckline.
While the music group are trying to keep their project a top secret, some of what they are doing has been leaked, which unfortunately seems to happen quite often in the music business. However, what we do know is that the music will be performed by a Cuban tribute band featuring legendary bassist Carlitos del Puerto and Singer/Tres player San Miguel Perez.
From the buzz surrounding this project, and this group of world class musicians, we can only imagine how incredible it is going to sound –and frankly we can’t wait to hear it! Stay tuned!
