His Early Days
While recuperating from a back operation, I would go down to the old line Cincinnati brokerage house of W.E. Hutton. It was there that I learned how to “Read The Tape” and got so good at it that I could tell when a stock was being shorted. The tape was a moving celluloid tape that showed the New York Stock Exchange stock trades as they occurred…showing stock symbol, the amount of shares traded, and the price. I was lucky to meet Robert Slemmer, a young broker that took me under his wing and showed me how to analyze a company’s stock chart using Technical Analysis. Slemmer was an expert technical analyst . I later learned that he had worked in Lucien Hooper’s office during his New York training for Hutton. Lucien Hooper was the acknowledged “Master Of Technical Analysis” , and he gave a weekly stock market presentation to Hutton’s brokers.
Joe’s Financial Background and Training
I later attended Xavier University and received a BSBA Degree, Major in Finance…with a 3.5+ GPA for all Xavier courses. After graduating I entered the Fifth Third Bank management training program, and spent time in the credit department under Barry Zerkle. I was promoted to Credit Analyst for the bank’s National Accounts. I was responsible for analyzing the financial statements of our National Account customers, and to recommend to the Loan Committee-made up of our Vice Presidents, whether or not to renew their lines of credit.
I also became a Registered Representative for Fidelity Investments and achieved the highest Series 7 score in the history of their regional suburban office in Blue Ash, while working there.
The Bottom Line
As you can see, not only am I a Master Technical Analyst who can pick winning stocks merely by analyzing their stock chart, but I am also an expert in analyzing a company’s financial statements — which is called Fundamental Analysis. Because of those two very important skills, I have an edge over many other analysts and have the proven ability to pick winning stocks.
