Three Skin Treatments You Need to Try in 2018
While we all want our skin to look as lovely and glowing as possible, the reasons that you should be taking great pride in your skincare don’t just come down to vanity.
That’s because your skin is the biggest organ of the body and your first line of defence against all those nasty germs out there, so there’s nothing wrong with giving it a little extra attention with some skin treatments.
However, we’re not just talking moisturiser and face masks here. Why not make 2018 the year you get serious about your skin and try one of these three hot skin treatments?
Microdermabrasion
A great treatment for those looking for younger skin, microdermabrasion is a treatment which intensely exfoliates and resurfaces the skin, using a stream of non-allergenic crystals to remove dead layers of skin.
It’s a totally non-invasive and chemical-free procedure but it can achieve great results. Think of it as being like a normal exfoliating cream, but ramped up to 11!
The therapist will simply use a small handset which directs the stream of crystals over the chosen area and will then use it to suck away the crystal and dead skin, leaving you with a renewed, healthier complexion.
While this treatment can be useful for reducing some acne scars and the effects of sun damage, it’s not recommended for getting rid of deeper scars.

Microneedling
Microneedling is definitely a treatment that’s got everyone talking, with famous faces such as Jennifer Aniston, Kim Kardashian and Angelina Jolie all known to have used it.
Essentially, the procedure uses a small roller with tiny needles to create lots of small holes, which stimulates the collagen and elastin proteins to improve your skin’s health and help tighten it.
It can help to reduce scars, stretch marks and wrinkles and despite the fact it does use needles, they’re so small that you’ll barely even feel them.
While there are microneedling devices you can buy at home, we’d definitely recommend going to a specialist dermatologist for better and safer results.

Mud Wraps
The great thing about mud wraps are that there are so many different types, all of which have different benefits for your skin, whether it be making your skin firm and toned or helping it to feel smoother and softer.
Whichever type of mud wrap you go for, there are few things more relaxing than switching off for an hour or so in the spa and just relaxing while the mud does its thing!
The idea is that the mud causes you to sweat, which will flush out toxins and help to relieve tired and aching joints too.
Beware though as, according to the Good Spa Guide, while such wraps may make you temporarily appear slimmer, this is only because of the loss of fluid from the sweat and the effect will wear off once you drink some water, so don’t go for one expecting a miracle weight loss solution!
