Tell us about your upbringing?

I was Born in Orange County so some of my earliest memories are of the California sunshine and beaches. I was raised throughout the southwest of California, New Mexico and Texas. My father was a US Marine and my mother a fine artist, but they divorced when I was 2 so I traveled frequently attending a number of public and private schools. I found myself in honors and gifted and talented programs before I finished high school early and moved to San Miguel de Allende Mexico as a teen. It was in SMA where I studied at a classical art school my mother and grandmother attended, Instituto Allende.

When did you know you wanted to be an actress and what inspired you?

After returning from Mexico I moved to Los Angeles to be close to family and work in political activism, promoting human and environmental rights. As an artist I enjoyed oil painting and sculpting, but once I discovered the medium of film, I began to collaborate with friends, photographers and artists from around the world.

What are your current goals?

My current goals are to create and participate in productions that portray interesting casts of diverse characters especially powerful, female roles. I love stories of women overcoming all odds to achieve great things.

I personally want to see more films like that. Historical figures are an influential source of inspiration.

I also enjoy sci-fi as it allows for the fantasy of a world we have yet to encounter. The rules can be however you design them without the limitations of our current physical, social, or cultural paradigms. I find it exhilarating to think out of the box and craft multi-dimensional stories. I would love to bring more projects like that to the screen.
