Interview with the Homeopath and Animal Alternative Therapist Amalia Moerman Pavlidi
Amalia Moerman Pavlidi is a Homeopath and Animal alternative Therapist based in the Netherlands. Her holistic approach helps pets recover from mental, health and behavioral issues. Today we interview her for the first time!
What is a holistic approach?
Holistic medicine is a form of healing that considers the whole person; body, mind, spirit, and emotions, in the quest for optimal health and wellness. According to the holistic medicine philosophy, one can achieve optimal health — the primary goal of holistic medicine practice by gaining proper balance in life.
Holistic practitioners believe the whole person is made up of interdependent parts and if one part is not working properly, all the other parts will be affected. In this way, if people or animals have imbalances (physical, emotional, or spiritual) in their lives, it can negatively affect their overall health.
Why you chose to offer services for animals?
I love animals. They are beautiful souls that live with us. They have the same rights as we do. I wanted to offer this opportunity to a person who has a pet. I wanted to offer the opportunity to heal the animal in a holistic way. I focus on their psychology and we work holistically for every problem.
You were a famous Opera singer. How did you decide to finally leave the stage and focus on the therapies?
I have studied Homeopathy. For some years I was working with artists with health problems via holistic ways. In 2016 I graduated Animal Alternative Therapist and I started working part time. Finally after some time I decided to change career and focus exclusively on my therapies. When I saw how many animals were cured, how much happiness I can offer…I decided that this is the right path for me.
Can the phycology state of an animal affect his health?
Yes! Poor mental health can negatively impact on physical health, leading to an increased risk of some conditions. Similarly, poor physical health can lead to an increased risk of developing mental health problems. When I meet with the pet parent, he/she needs to reply a long interview concerning their pet. Their emotions and behaviors are carefully studied in order to understand better their physical problem.
You are an official member at the International Association of Holistic Medicine Practitioners and also at the Homeopathy Association of the Netherlands. How do you feel about that?
I am really happy and grateful. More people can find my services and see if we match. I can help more animals so I am really grateful for this opportunity.
What type of people make the best holistic therapists?
Loving is the most important element of being a therapist. A holistic Therapist must be someone who sees the world with a very clear lens. They don’t have their implicit biases, and they aren’t bringing their baggage to work. They aren’t reactive, but they are empathetic.
Comfort is of utmost importance when it comes to patient care. “We look at always promoting comfort for our patient population with guided imagery, massage therapy technique, biofeedback, energy work, remedies and more.
