Its Time To Know More About Rock Band From Los Angeles ‘Love Ghost’

Love Ghost is an alternative rock band from Los Angeles. While young in age (two of them are juniors in high school), these musicians have a genuine and developed grunge rock sound. The band is releasing their first full-length album “Lobotomy” on June 17th. The album was produced by Eric Lilivois and was recorded at London Bridge Studios in Seattle & NRG Studios in Los Angeles. Their sound has been compared to Alice in Chains and Smashing Pumpkins, amongst other throwback rock greats. Their music is influenced by the teenagers’ personal experiences of addiction, mental illness, heartache, love and coming of age.

Q:When you decide it’s time to make a new record, is that more exciting or stressful?

Ans: It’s more exciting for me and the stress that comes with it is worth the end result.

Q: For our readers who have never heard your music, explain your sound in 5 words?

Ans: Emo Prog Rock with Strings.

Q: You write all of your own music; where do you draw inspiration from when you write songs and what’s your favorite part about the process?

My life experiences. I enjoy music that is genuine and raw, not corny lyrics addressing issues or topics that the band knows nothing about. My favorite part of the process is writing lyrics. I have journals stacked with poems, I love writing lyrics.

Q: At what age did you start singing?

ANS: I’ve been singing since the age of 13.

Q: If you could perform with anyone, in the future, who would it have to be?

Ans: Billy Corgan. That would be a dream.

Q: Which instruments do you play?

Ans: I play Guitar, Piano, Bass and I sing.

Q: Is your family musical?

Ans: No, they are not. I am the only musician in the household.

Q: Who was your first teacher? Other teachers?

Ans: My first teacher was my Piano teacher that I studied with for 5 years. When I was 11, he was institionalized. I’d like to keep his identity hidden. I’ve also taken lessons from Neil Rambaldi for Guitar, and Mark Renk and Micah Plissner for singing.

Q: Do you get nervous before a performance or a competition?

Ans: Yes, I do. I have thrown-up before many shows.

Q: How often and for how long do you practice?

Ans: I practice every single day for 50 minutes

Q: What do you practice – exercises, new tunes, hard tunes, etc.?

Ans: I practice my scales and learn a new song, weekly.
